A couple of months ago I was very candid & impulsive in announcing the creation of a new non-profit organization that would fund the education of disadvantaged, young girls in South Africa. A little while after that (1 September to be exact), Marianne joined our team and along with Dom, they’ve been working away behind-the-scenes to get The Rockstar Foundation up and running.

So whilst we’re not quite ready yet to launch & publicize the Foundation, we’re getting there. Here is our new logo (designed by the amazing Veerle Pieters**), which was only finalized last week:

The next step is to get our “work-in-progress” blog up this week, where we will be sharing our journey thus far, as well as the one going forward. We’ve also started working on our complete website and Liam McKay – who will be responsible for the front-end design – has been very generous in donating his design awesomeness to the project.

The next few months will thus most definitely be exciting and we’re super amped to our teeth stuck into this new project. If you’d like to stay updated on our progress, you can follow The Rockstar Foundation’s Twitter account here. And if you’d like to contribute financially, you can do so over here.

We’d also love to hear from anyone that would like to get involved in the project or contribute in any way. You can drop me an e-mail if you’re keen.

** A big, massive thanks goes to Veerle for contributing / donating her time & amazing skills to design the logo. It is the generosity of such individuals that will help make The Rockstar Foundation something truly special and inspiring.

So it’s about that time of the year where I feel the need to freshen things up a little and launch a new project…

The Rockstar Foundation is a non-profit organization which will be funding the education of disadvantaged girls in South Africa. We intend on using social media to run the foundation and hope that our transparency and cool ideas will spark some interest among you all.

As I have no experience whatsoever with non-profit organizations, I’d really appreciate your thoughts on the matter.
