Nice little post about the different business models involved with pricing & selling your products. I definitely second the selling of less (top notch) products at a higher price, as that is what I believe we’re doing at WooThemes.
Yep,the quicker they come out, the greater the chance of bugs etc..
Even with 50 Themes and counting?
Hi Adii, It’s been a while! Interesting article. One thing that I’m always preaching is that we are selling one of two things, especially online where there is a commodity effect on so many products & services: You are either selling price, or you are selling value. Obviously we want to sell value. Those who are stuck selling price are only doing themselves harm. They are creating a cheap perception of their work, but also avoiding the challenge of actually engaging people in their product. They also likely haven’t targeted the right group of people. This is why Pay-per-click drives me mad, its amazing what people will pay for advertising with the model and end up with ROI that is piss-poor. Eh, too many rhetorical observations I suppose, but I would agree with what this article talks about. Thanks for sharing.
